Another method of dosing involves using Lamisil for one week per month until treatment is completed. Continue to take this until the full-prescribed amount is finished. Stopping Lamisil too early may result in ineffective treatment or a relapse of the infection.

What are the potential side effects from Lamisil?
Side effects from Lamisil cannot be anticipated. Only your doctor can determine if it is safe for you to continue taking Lamisil. Cream and solution side effects are uncommon. They include burning or irritation, itching, dryness, peeling, and rash. Frequent side effects of the tablets may include: Diarrhea, indigestion, and rash.

What should I discuss with my doctor before taking Lamisil?
Tell your doctor your medical history, especially of: kidney disease, liver disease, and medication allergies. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant before taking Lamisil. Because fungal toenail or fingernail infection treatment generally should be postponed until after pregnancy, discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. This drug is excreted into breast milk and therefore is not recommended for use while breast-feeding. Consult with your doctor before breast-feeding.

What is the recommended dose for Lamisil?

For Fungal Infection of the Fingernails: The standard dose is one 250-milligram tablet once a day for 6 weeks.
For Fungal Infection of the Toenails: The standard dose is one 250-milligram tablet once a day for 12 weeks.
The cream presentation form for Athlete's Foot, Jock Itch, and Ringworm: Apply to the affected and closely surrounding areas twice a day until signs and symptoms improve. Use for a minimum of 7 days, but no more than 4 weeks. For athlete's foot found only on the soles of the feet and not between the toes, use the cream twice a day for 2 weeks.

What should I do in case of overdose with Lamisil?
If you suspect an overdose with Lamisil tablets, seek medical treatment right away.Symptoms of overdose with Lamisil tablets may include: Headache, nausea, rash, vomiting, abdominal pain, dizziness and frequent urination.
